The Carolina Beach Pier Pumpkin Patch returns for the entire month of October, combining one of our favorite fall traditions with an unmistakably coastal setting. Pick out a pumpkin, take family photos with the Atlantic in the background, then linger at the pier and enjoy the ocean views.
It’s an especially easy outing for families because you can make it as quick or leisurely as you like—and few pumpkin patches come with this kind of view.
🔥 Blankets, Bonfires & Music: Seaside Pumpkin Patch

Fall evenings feel different when there’s sand under your feet.
On Thursday and Friday nights throughout October, the Carolina Beach Pier adds bonfires and music to its seaside pumpkin patch. Bring a blanket, settle in near the ocean, and enjoy one of those only-at-the-beach combinations: cool fall air, a warm fire, live music, pumpkins, and the sound of the waves.
It’s a great way to wind down after a day on the beach—or to make an ordinary October evening feel like vacation.
🎶 Carolina Beach MusicFest: Fall Reggae

Start October with live music right beside the ocean.
This year’s Fall Reggae MusicFest features Ballyhoo!!, Signal Fire, and Cape Fear Rising, with a full day of music at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Gates open at 10:00 AM and the show runs from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Bring beach chairs or towels, and even pack a cooler. Kids age 10 and under are admitted free, making this an easy choice for families who want a lively beach day with a soundtrack. Advance tickets are $37.25, with tickets at the door listed at $40.
Bonus: October 3 is also the final Carolina Beach Market of the 2026 season at Carolina Beach Lake Park, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Browse local produce, handmade goods and artisan vendors in the morning, then head to the Boardwalk for music.
👻 Monster Dash 5K

For a little Halloween spirit—and a little exercise—head to Carolina Beach State Park for the Monster Dash 5K.
This trail race winds through the park’s pine-lined terrain with water views along the way. Runners and walkers of different ages and ability levels are welcome, making it a fun fall activity whether you’re racing for time or simply enjoying the scenery.
Spectators can watch for free, while race participants should register in advance.
